My Thank-Yous and Blog Updates for 2017
The year is coming to a close. The year of 2016 has been a one of ups and downs but looking back I see that every event happened for a reason. When I started “The Importance of Reading Earnest” in earnest (pun intended and maybe forced) on November 10, 2015, I wasn’t sure what it would lead to. I, fortunately, had read a blog post from a VC that suggested one should not view their blog as a tool to gain popularity but as a thought resume to display one’s ideas — and that’s what I’ve tried (emphasis on “tried”) to do. The work that I’ve accomplished in 2016 throughout the startup ecosystems in the US, has inspired me to share tips to help founders build strong startups, insights from interviews with entrepreneurs, and advice that demystifies the venture capital process.
Thanks for Everything
Many times publishing my blog posts has felt like yelling at a concert but 14 months later I see all the work wasn’t all for naught thanks to all the supporters and organizations I’m affiliated with. First and foremost thanks to organizations like Backstage Capital and Camelback Ventures for taking a chance on me and allowing me to meet and collaborate with amazing startups. Thanks to all that have read, liked, shared or commented on the blog posts. Thanks to the Starting Bloc, Jopwell, and Tech Estate Today for sharing my posts with their audiences. But the blog isn’t just my thoughts — it’s reached another level thanks to all those who shared their perspectives (special thanks to Donna Griffit, Priti Patel, Suzanne McKenzie, Fatima Dicko, Kate Gremillion, Nitzan Pelman, Saba Sedighi, Dana Barrett, Deborah Chang, and Kevin Guy) and guest writers (shout out to Morgan Terrelle, Lemu, Laura Spiekerman, Hannah Gay, Derrick Michael Deese, Moses Ike, Meiko Drew, John Andrews, and Tess Brustein).
New Year Same Blog
My writing and 2016 activities have led to some exciting upcoming opportunities in 2017, that I can’t share just yet (🤐). But this will result in me having fewer blog posts in the first quarter of 2017. But don’t worry I will be providing more great content for aspiring/first-time founders and venture capitalists. Be on the look out for more posts from my friends (friends expect emails requesting blog posts) and myself in 2017. Also feel free to reread past posts from the first 14 months.
Thanks for reading and have an amazing new year!
