Stresswood is a Series A venture firm that leads high-conviction rounds into category-defining companies.
We focus on companies that don’t just grow fast, but grow with wisdom.
Our model is concentrated: 6–8 investments per year, with 45% of the fund reserved for follow-on.
We aim for ownership. We co-lead or lead. And we help operators scale not through hype, but through service.
If you’re building a company that serves customers, solves deep problems, and leverages invisible insights, Stresswood is designed to meet you at that inflection point—right as the market is waking up, and you’re ready to break through.
Why the name? Why now? (Here’s where I got it from)
Stresswood is a biological term. It’s the tissue a tree grows in response to pressure—when terrain shifts, or the wind won’t let up. The tree doesn’t quit. It doesn’t snap. It forms internal counterpressure to stay upright. It becomes stronger because of the stress.
That metaphor means everything to me.
Because the best founders I know don’t come from perfect conditions. They adapt. They endure. They build strength through challenge. And I think the best venture firms will be built the same way—over time, through trust, not trend cycles.
Stresswood is that kind of firm.
Where are we now?
I’m currently running Stress Test—a pre-fund platform designed to build upon my decade-long track record and conviction before the full launch. Through Stress Test, I co-lead $5M–$9M SPVs, advise LPs on strategic innovation, and continue to refine our investment model and voice.
Stresswood—the fund—is coming in 2027. However, the culture, thesis, and relationships are being established now.
This isn’t a placeholder. It’s the foundation.
Why I’m Building It?
I’ve spent 10+ years in venture—from founding Prologis Ventures to investing at GreatPoint Ventures to launching Public School Ventures. Along the way, I’ve learned to trust my eye, bet ahead of consensus, and help founders scale with precision.
But I also learned something deeper:
The best work happens when the people at the table are aligned on clarity, creativity, conviction, and service to founders.
That’s what Stresswood stands for.
A firm built to last.
A firm that grows stronger under pressure.
A firm that leads where others wait.
If you’ve made it this far:
Thanks. You probably get what I’m trying to do. However, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
And if you want to be part of building something enduring—from LPs to founders to collaborators—I’d love to talk.
This is Stresswood.
Let’s grow something strong.
